In pediatric age, most prevalent causative organism of empyema with pneumatocele is Stapylococcus,
but recently we experienced a case of E. coli empyema with pneumatocele in 9 month old boy,
who had history of sudden dyspnea with high fever, cyanosis and diarrhea.
He was treated successfully with Gentamycin and closed surgical chest drainage.
We report this case with brief review of literature.
